Resilient Teams.
14–18 June 2027 · Nicosia, Cyprus · Co-hosted by INHWE and European University Cyprus
Interprofessional.Global has confirmed that Cyprus will host the 12th edition of the International Conference on Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice – All Together Better Health (ATBH XII). ATBH is the leading global gathering of health and social care educators, practitioners, researchers, policy makers and service users committed to advancing interprofessional education and collaborative practice.

Stoic virtues, reimagined for interprofessional education and collaborative practice.
In the evolving landscape of interprofessional education, collaboration grounded in shared values and ethical principles is essential for addressing today’s complex healthcare challenges. The 2027 theme bridges the timeless principles of Stoicism — which originated in Cyprus through Zeno of Citium — with modern practices in IPE to foster ethical, resilient and effective teamwork.
Wisdom in Collaboration
Teams thrive when they embrace diverse perspectives and apply rational judgement to make decisions. Interprofessional education fosters this wisdom by encouraging lifelong learning, practical judgement and mutual respect across disciplines, professions and settings.
Whether crafting patient-centred care plans or addressing systemic challenges, wisdom supports thoughtful, informed and collaborative action. It helps teams respond to complexity with curiosity rather than certainty and with discernment rather than haste.
Courage to Communicate
Honest, open and constructive communication is a cornerstone of interprofessional education. Courage empowers professionals to address misunderstandings, advocate for shared goals and enter challenging conversations with integrity and resilience.
This virtue reflects the Stoic principle of facing difficulty with fortitude. It supports cultures where people can speak up, listen across difference and engage disagreement in ways that strengthen rather than divide teams.
Justness in Teamwork
Equity and fairness are foundational to effective interprofessional collaboration. Justice ensures that every team member’s voice is valued and that decisions are made with integrity, inclusivity and attention to the common good.
Interprofessional education promotes this virtue by fostering equitable participation, ethical decision-making and inclusive practice. Justice calls teams to notice power, question imbalance and create conditions where contribution is genuinely shared.
Temperance in Adaptability
Flexibility and balance enable teams to navigate change and overcome challenge. In interprofessional education, temperance is reflected in the ability to moderate personal preferences, manage bias and adapt to changing team needs with composure.
This virtue supports harmonious, efficient collaboration in environments that are often pressured, dynamic and unpredictable. It encourages resilience without rigidity and responsiveness without losing sight of shared purpose.

A capital with layers of history, culture and contemporary energy.
Cosmopolitan, historical and bustling, Nicosia is uniquely comprised of an ancient walled city and a modern, fast-paced European capital. It rewards visitors in search of something different.
Architectural influences from different historical periods are visible throughout the city, allowing past and present, traditional and contemporary, to sit side by side. Its landmarks, museums, theatres, musical events and galleries offer a destination rich in interest and character.
Beyond the capital, Cyprus offers a Mediterranean landscape of sun, sea, culture and cuisine. The island’s long history, distinctive geographic position and welcoming atmosphere make it an especially memorable setting for a global gathering.
